Version DateModelGeographyValidation methodNotes
0.1 Beta02-04-2012AESOP & ELFEP data, 16-35 years old LAD, England & Wales SEPEA study, comparison of overal totals, EIS-specific totals; Prediction Error assesed by SMRSMR method (observed to expected) did not give accurate prediction intervals
0.2 Beta 22-05-2012AESOP & ELFEP data, 16-64 years old LAD, England & Wales Internal (AESOP/ELFEP) & external (SEPEA) validation. Updated prediction errors using method of Krishnamoorthy et al. Model with age, sex, ethnicity and population had most consistent validity over range of predictions.
0.3 Beta RC06-08-2012AESOP & ELFEP data, 16-64 years old LAD, England & Wales Internal (AESOP/ELFEP) & external (SEPEA) validation. Prediction errors revised using formula developed from first principles for estimating prediction intervals from negative binomial regression models. Full details are provided in main paper describing development of tool. Release candidate.
0.4 Beta RC204-11-2012AESOP & ELFEP data, 16-64 years old LAD, England & Wales Internal (AESOP/ELFEP) & external (SEPEA) validation. Model identical to version 0.3. Change to 2 heat maps to correct uniform rate originally used by Department of Health for EIS commissioning.
0.5 Beta Release20-12-2012AESOP & ELFEP data, 16-64 years old LAD, England & Wales Internal (AESOP/ELFEP) & external (SEPEA) validation. Same model as 0.4, but findings by ethnicity removed from online map tool. Downloadable data is now version 5b to include denominator estimates (2009)
1.004-06-2014AESOP & ELFEP data, 16-64 years old LAD, England & Wales Internal (AESOP/ELFEP) & external (SEPEA) validation. 2011 Census for denominator, external validation in full SEPEA data (3.5 years), enhancement of algorithm to include deprivation
1.101-08-2014AESOP & ELFEP data, 16-64 years old LAD, Counties, England & Wales Internal (AESOP/ELFEP) & external (SEPEA) validation. Uses v1.0 predictions but new level of geography (counties) added.
